Hello, and welcome to Eureka Rewind!

This episode is our introduction to the series. We’ll discuss what drew us to the series for the first time, the cast and what impact the show has had on us as individuals and on the TV culture. Next week we will start an episode-by-episode watching of the series and we’d love to have you join us on the long journey! We’ll include details at the end of the show for how you can get in touch with us to send in feedback or to volunteer as a guest!

Segment 1: First, we will share our “Eureka story.” When did you first watch it, what was the appeal for you and what are looking forward to in our discussions?

Segment 2: Let’s now talk about the show itself. Eureka tells the story of “a U.S. Marshal who becomes the sheriff of Eureka, a remote, cozy little Northwestern town where the best minds in the US have secretly been tucked away to build futuristic inventions for the government which often go disastrously wrong.” This is the description on IMDB. It aired on the Sci-Fi network from 2006-2012 and is currently available for streaming in the US on Peacock and Amazon Prime.

Segment 3: Next, let’s discuss the cast and crew for the show.

Eureka was created by Andrew Cosby and Jaime Paglia. They have few credits aside from this show. Let’s discuss the cast next.

Thank you for joining today for this flagship show of Eureka Rewind! We hope that this has whet your appetite to dive deep into the series once again or for the first time. We want this show to be as interactive as possible. Some of you are watching for the first time, so during our episode discussions we will discuss each episode on its own without spoilers for the future episodes (mostly because Steph hasn’t seen any other episodes!)

For our episode next week, we will review the pilot episode which first aired on July 18th, 2006.

We are proud to be a part of the TV Rewind network of podcasts. Since 2010, Stephanie has been hosting TV Rewind about current tv shows and expanded into a network of podcasts about throwback shows in 2016.

Please reach out to us if you’d be interested in guest hosting on Eureka Rewind. You can sign up on the Google Doc which is linked on the TV Rewind Facebook group.
You can send us feedback via email and we would love to hear from you! We’re not in Apple Podcasts yet, but will be soon!
